In order to contribute to the development of cultural spaces in Montespertoli, Tuscany, Prima Materia has decided to promote the construction of a music centre, with a much-needed auditorium. Situated in San Quirico, it will be constructed with environmentally compatible materials and using the latest energy-saving technology. The auditorium, with a performance area of 10x10 meters and a seating capacity of 200, together with adjacent rooms covers a ground area of approximately 400 square meters. The architectural project, which will include smaller spaces dedicated to a music therapy room, a laboratory for younger children, practice rooms, office and archives, will be selected as the result of a competition for young architects.

The "Campocorto" violin has been donated to Prima Materia, in order to raise funds for the construction of the music centre.
In 1982, after qualifying at the Cremona School of Violin Making, four young violin makers moved to Tuscany. They lived and worked for some years at Campocorto, a country house belonging to the Badia at Coltibuono, making string instruments. In May 2009, twenty-five years later, Guust Francois, Jens Norskov, Paolo Sorgentone and Paolo Stucchi returned to the same location to make this new violin, modelled on the famous Guarnieri "Cannone".
In 1743 Giuseppe Guarnieri "Del Gesù" made the most famous instrument in the history of violin making. It was named "Il Cannone" ("The Canon") by no less than Pagannini, who played it for much of his great career. Fellow-citizen and contemporary of Antonio Stradivari, Giuseppe Guarnieri emerges in the panorama of Cremonese violin making for his decisive style, at times somewhat rough, but always of great character. The design of this famous instrument provides the ispirational starting point for the "Campocorto" violin.
